Government bonds are not exempt from tax under the Income Tax Federal.

However, the interest can sometimes be delayed until the connection is restored, and in other cases of interest is not taxable if the link is used for higher education.

The value of government bonds is not taxed at the state level.

Federal bonds are exempt from state and local taxes. The prosecutors have BPAY, however.
For bonds, the home of the government (state, local or federal level exemption) from the tax by the other two forms of government.
Hope this helps.
